The Therapeutic Recreation Association of Oklahoma (TRAO) is organized exclusively for the advancement of therapeutic recreation and the promotion of the therapeutic recreation profession, including the advancement of education and the promotion of professional standards within the organization. TRAO, an independent 501 (c) (6) corporation, is a chapter affiliate and organizational membership of ATRA. If you are a TRAO member and would like to join ATRA at a reduced rate, contact either Dr. Passmore or Dr. Jordan at Oklahoma State.
TR Licensure becomes effective Nov 1, 2010. Regulations and application procedures are posted on the Medical Licensure Board website under Boards and Committees - Therapeutic Recreation Specialist. Please note that you will no longer be able to legally practice TR without a license beginning November 2010. You should submit your completed application for licensure and appropriate fees by Sept. 15th, 2010. You will be able to verify your license on-line on Nov. 5th and will receive your licensure information in the mail around the middle of November.
